JUEVINTXOS
Juevintxos
What actually is Juevintxos? It looks hard to pronounce, but it’s definitely worth it. The word comes from the combination of the words “Jueves” (the word for Thursday in Spanish) and “Pintxo” (the basque word for tapas). And that’s what happens during Juevintxos: On Thursdays you go out to the city center and enjoy some pintxos and drinks with your friends. Most bars offer a discounted price on this day. Juevintxos is not like the usual going out and having dinner. If you want to eat something, you just go into one of the bars and order the pintxo you like and a drink. You pay right after you order, so you can take your food and eat it outside if you want. Most people are just have one pintxo in each bar, so that they can move from bar to bar. Especially in the summer months, when it’s still warm at night, everyone is sitting outside of the bars on the street enjoying their life.
